The Rockwell 8R is a plain calculator with percentages.
What first struck me was the brown leather carrying bag which looks more like a fashion statement than anything else. The calculator itself as well looks like a designer thing. Nice little touches such as a little dot sticking out on the five key. It is an 8-digit calculator with an LED display. It has the basic functions and can perform percentage calculations. Almost 8-digit that is, for when displaying negative numbers the leftmost digit is used for the sign leaving only 7-digits for the negative number. The lowest negative number possible on this calculator is therefore "-8888888". The = key is awkwardly placed at the top right position. Operations are automatically repeated by repeatedly pressing the = key. When there is an error condition all eight decimal points are lit. There is also a Radio Shack version of this calculator, the Radio Shack EC-220. |
